Today began with a slower start. It was overcast but not rainy like the other 4 days. I decided that it would be a good day to work on our puppet theater for the puppet show that the boys are giving at our Petra Home School Support Group program night next Tuesday.
The boys got up and ate breakfast. They worked on Math, Spelling, and language arts. While they were doing that I cut the window and door into the refrigerator box. Then we got out the green spray paint and painted it. After lunch, we ran out so we ran to the store for some more and finished painting it.
After we finished painting it, the boys watched the Stomp out Loud DVD that we got from Netflix for music. It was real neat! The boys saw the group first on a Mr. Rogers DVD that we rented and wanted to see if we could find more music by the group. Stomp uses a lot of things that we wouldn’t think of as musical instruments to make music like brooms, buckets, 25 gallon drums, trashcans, etc. They dance and make their music and the same time. We love it!
Today our 10 yo worked on illustrating a story that he wrote and also practiced guitar. The 8 yo worked on his story for the puppet show and had me type it up for him. The other two boys just floated in and out of our activities helping where they can and played nearby.
In the evening the children picked up, we had story time, and went to bed.
